Inside Tencent’s Open Day for “Technology for Good: Driving Social Impact” Participants

The NUS Centre for Governance and Sustainability (CGS), together with Tencent, welcomed participants of the “Technology for Good: Driving Social Impact” research initiative to an Open Day programme held at Tencent’s headquarters in Shenzhen, China, from 23 to 26 September. The visit offered participants a close-up look at cutting-edge AI technologies and applications as they refine their ideas on how technology can drive meaningful social impact. Open Day connected researchers with practitioners through guided tours, demonstrations and briefings, enabling participants to explore how AI and digital platforms can support social efforts.

Ms Wang Xiangyi, Secretary-General of CANGO, introduced CANGO’s role in strengthening cross-sector partnerships for sustainable development. As shortlisted participants prepare their research submissions, CGS and Tencent are gearing up for a November conference that will showcase their work.
