Accreditation is a rigorous peer review of all aspects of the School and its programmes. The accreditation maintenance process starts with an in-depth University-submitted report outlining its current and long-term plans followed by on-site interviews of students, faculty, alumni, corporate clients and employers by a visiting panel. The renewed accreditation assures students, faculty, staff and the public that NUS Business school delivers programmes of the highest quality thereby positioning NUS Business School to sustain that quality into the future. In 2003, NUS Business School was the first school in ASEAN to be awarded the AACSB accreditation followed by the EQUIS accreditation in 2009. These accolades represent two of the highest quality indicators for Business Education worldwide.

The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) is a global, nonprofit membership organisation of educational institutions, businesses, and other entities devoted to the advancement of management education. Established in 1916, AACSB-accredited schools have the highest quality faculty, relevant and challenging curriculum, and provide educational and career opportunities that are not found at other business schools. Today, AACSB Accreditation represents the highest standard of achievement for business schools worldwide. Less than 5% of the world’s 13,000 business programmes have earned AACSB Accreditation. AACSB-accredited schools produce graduates that are highly skilled and more desirable to employers than other non-accredited schools.

The European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS) is the accrediting body of the European Federation for Management Development ( EFMD). The fundamental objective of EQUIS, linked to the mission of EFMD, is to raise the standard of management education worldwide. EQUIS assesses institutions as a whole. It assesses all the activities and sub-units of the institution, including research, e-learning units, executive education provision and community outreach plus the degree programmes. EQUIS looks for a balance between high academic quality and the professional relevance provided by close interaction with the corporate world plus a high degree of internationalisation.
