On behalf of ACCA, we would like to extend our congratulations to the NUS Centre for Governance and Sustainability (CGS) on the momentous occasion of your 10 years in sustainability.

Our partnership is wide-ranging, spanning from joint research, events and speaking engagements to supporting partners at our various ACCA conferences and Ethics Film Festival.

We are excited to see CGS continue this research excellence and collaborative approach with ACCA in the years to come.

Dr Allinnettes Adigue

Director, ASEAN Network, Global Reporting Initiative (GRI)

On behalf of GRI ASEAN, I would like to extend our warmest congratulations to the Centre for Governance and Sustainability (CGS) on the remarkable occasion of 10 years in sustainability research.

Over the past decade, CGS has been at the forefront of corporate sustainability and sustainability research in Southeast Asia, setting exemplary standards and driving impactful change across the region. Your dedication and leadership in this field have been instrumental in advancing sustainability practices and corporate governance, earning you a well-deserved reputation as a pioneer in this crucial area.

It is this outstanding reputation that made CGS our partner of choice for the seminal study on “Climate Reporting in ASEAN: State of Corporate Practice”, published in July 2022. This collaboration highlighted not only your expertise but also your commitment to fostering transparency and accountability in corporate reporting.

Our partnership was further solidified with the signing of the MOU between GRI ASEAN and NUS CGS in 2023. This agreement symbolises our shared vision and commitment to promoting corporate governance, sustainability, and reporting in the region through joint research workshops, executive education programmes, research seminars, and conferences.

As we celebrate this significant milestone, we look forward to many more years of partnership and joint efforts in driving sustainable development and corporate excellence in ASEAN.

Congratulations once again, and here’s to a future filled with continued success and impactful contributions!

David Gerald

Founder, President and Chief Executive Officer, Securities Investors Association (Singapore) (SIAS)

Heartiest congratulations to the NUS Centre for Governance and Sustainability (CGS) on reaching the significant milestone of 10 years in corporate sustainability research. Your unwavering dedication and hard work have advanced thought leadership in this field, establishing a benchmark for research excellence.

Over the years, our collaboration on the SIAS Investors’ Choice Awards (ICA) has been immensely rewarding. CGS’s expertise in assessing some of the awards under ICA has greatly enhanced the credibility of these accolades. Your efforts not only recognise outstanding corporate practices but also inspire organisations to adopt best practices in transparency and shareholder communication.

As we celebrate this achievement, we look forward to continuing our partnership in fostering a sustainable and transparent corporate environment. Together, we can drive meaningful change and promote responsible governance in Singapore and beyond.

Warmest congratulations once again!

Thomas Thomas

Chief Executive Officer, ASEAN CSR Network

Congratulations on your great achievements and milestones in the solid research conducted on sustainability and governance. It gives me immense happiness to be associated with the Centre as a pioneer in this field.

In 2011, I as the Founding Executive Director of Singapore Compact for CSR, did a study on the state of sustainability reporting among listed companies in Singapore. To enhance the quality, credibility and reach of the report, I collaborated with Professor Lawrence Loh and his team to conduct the study in 2013. The report released in 2014, was well received. It led to further collaborations to cover ASEAN countries’ sustainability reporting and business integrity disclosures, as well as on sustainable consumption and production in ASEAN.

The Centre is now the “go-to” research institution on governance and sustainability in the region. The global challenges for sustainability, governance, environmental stewardship and social responsibility need urgent action. The work done by CGS has enabled businesses and policymakers to make informed decisions for the benefit of society. Your role will only grow in importance and relevance.

I wish you continued success in your work. May you continue to inform and educate all stakeholders to take the right action, to have a sustainable earth for the benefit of the present and future generations.
