Minjun graduated with a Bachelor in Public Administration from the Renmin University of China, and a Master in Public Policy from the National University of Singapore.

Prior to joining the Centre for Governance and Sustainability (CGS), she had working experiences in several sectors such as consulting, real estate and tech. At CGS, she is involved in research in corporate sustainability and corporate governance.

Joycelyn graduated with a Bachelor of Social Sciences from the National University of Singapore. She is passionate about all things sustainability and climate justice. Prior to joining CGS, she’s had experience working on corporate sustainability within the retail industry. She is now excited to contribute research in this space.

Aster Thuy

Aster graduated from the Bachelor course in Banking and Finance at National Economics University and the Master of Science course in Finance at the University of Gloucestershire with distinction results.

Before joining CGS, she had 1.5 years of experience working as a data management executive in VNDIRECT Securities Corporation since the 3rd year of the bachelor course and five months internship in market research in McGraw Hill Singapore. She also had some academic research experience related to corporate governance in her final year project and master thesis. She is interested in this research direction and wants to see what impact it will bring to the company, especially the short term and long term performance.

Trang graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Denver majoring in Finance. Before joining CGS, she had nearly six years of experience working in the investment industry in various positions, from researcher to analyst and portfolio manager. During this time, she has become interested in the role of sustainability and corporate governance in the long-term future of corporate development. She is now involved in both sustainability and governance-related research at CGS.

Annette graduated with a Bachelor of Economics/Bachelor of Science degree from the Australian National University, and a Master of Social Sciences (Applied Economics) degree from the National University of Singapore. Before joining CGS, she conducted research on innovation and entrepreneurship policy; she is now focusing on research in sustainability-related issues.

Sabrina graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Environmental Studies from University of Waterloo, where she majored in both Geography and Aviation with a specialization of Climate Change. She then pursued further studies and graduated with a Masters of Climate Change from University of Waterloo.

Before joining CGS, she has conducted research on decarbonization projects from national scale to regional climate action plans. During her time with the District Energy Initiatives in Cities and Integrated Urban Systems Partnership teams at UNEP Energy and Climate Division, she has contributed in providing technical case studies from best practices, policy, funding mechanisms and business model analysis of pilot cities in their respective climate change strategies.

Ms Verity THOI

Verity graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Arts and Social Sciences and completed a Bachelor of Psychology Degree (Honours) at James Cook University in 2012.

Verity joined the NUS Business School in 2013, and held the position of an assistant manager, supporting the Executive Director in the Dean’s Office. She moved to the Centre for Governance and Sustainability (formerly known as the Centre for Governance, Institutions and Organisations) in 2015 and took on the Centre Manager’s role, managing the daily running of a research centre. This includes research, project and event management and marketing and publicity of activities for the centre. She also manages administrative tasks such as HR and finance. Verity has also written two research reports and numerous research proposals, performed copy editing and translations tasks on top of running the centre.

Under CGS’s Director’s leadership and mentorship, Verity was promoted twice in her career at CGS, and is now the Business Development Lead for the research centre.

Verity started her career as a journalist with the People’s Association before taking to the skies as a cabin crew with British Airways (BA). She was promoted to cabin crew supervisor a year after joining the company. While at BA, she held the position of Chairman of BA Cabin Crew Union from 2011 to 2013. She worked closely with the management and union to return the crew’s contractual agreement to fairer and more equitable treatment for the cabin crew union members.

Verity enjoys the challenges her current role entails and looks forward to more research collaborations and opportunities for the Centre’s growth and impact. Verity was Chairman of the NUS Business School Social Committee from 2014 to 2016. She enjoys interacting and socialising with people from all walks of life, organising events and embarking on new work experiences to broaden her horizons.

Ms Louise Chew

Louise graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Arts in European Studies and Literature. She joined Channel News Asia, then Television Corporation of Singapore, as a Broadcast Journalist. She was privileged to have spent 6 years as a Sub Editor, Line Producer and Anchor Editor. The roles involved selecting stories to feature in News Bulletin in tandem with the Editors, arranging interview questions with correspondents, vetting international news stories written by the Sub Editors and working with studio crew to produce the news. She joined the EU Centre in Singapore thereafter and helped market the Centre’s programmes, activities and organise events including the Green Innovations for Our Future Symposium, which featured C-Level speakers. She also produced content for the department’s website and newsletter. After the EU Centre, Louise joined the Global Relations Office, then International Relations Office, as a liaison officer, working with all Faculties, Schools, Research Institutes and Centres to produce reports on NUS’ partners for Senior Management. She counts launching an eco-office pilot project at the department in collaboration with Office of Environmental Sustainability and serving as Secretariat to help the department win the NUS Service Class award as among her achievements. Outside the office, Louise enjoys the great outdoors, gym workouts, catching up with people and baking as pastimes.
