Jefrey first studied Psychology at Temasek Polytechnic, where he developed a genuine curiosity for understanding people and human behaviour. During national service, he discovered a growing interest in financial markets, which led him to make the switch to NUS Business School, where he pursued a BBA specialising in Finance.
At NUS, Jefrey made full use of what the programme had to offer. The flexibility of the BBA curriculum allowed him to take on multiple finance internships across investment banking and investments, gaining real-world experience and building a strong foundation for his future career.
He also participated in the school’s Field Service Project, which offered a meaningful blend of academic rigour and real-world consulting, working alongside industry partners to deliver practical outcomes for clients.
Jefrey seized the opportunities available through the Global Experience Milestone, spending a semester on exchange in Barcelona where he met students from across the world, and attending a winter school programme in Seoul. These experiences allowed him to broaden his perspective on different cultures and ways of thinking, and to build connections with peers from all over the globe.
Reflecting on his time at NUS Business School, Jefrey is grateful for the breadth of experiences the school made possible, from the classroom to the workplace. He believes that the combination of academic training, industry exposure, and global experiences has prepared him well for the road ahead. He will be joining the investment banking industry upon graduation.
Jocelyn Lim is a graduating student from the NUS Business School, pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration with a double specialisation in Finance and Leadership & Human Capital Management.
A recipient of the NUS Business Dean’s Scholarship, Jocelyn was recognised for outstanding performance across disciplines including Finance, Management & Organisation, Accounting, and Chinese Studies. Upon graduation, she will join DBS as a Management Associate.
Beyond academics, she was invited by the Singapore Business Federation to serve as a Campus Ambassador, where she shared her internship experiences at student outreach platforms and supported fellow students in making informed career decisions.
Driven by a passion for creating meaningful social impact, Jocelyn dedicated much of her time at NUS to service and leadership. As Chairperson of Project A.C.E under the NUS Community Service Club, she led initiatives supporting seniors through sustained engagement programmes at active ageing centres and community outreach events. By strengthening partnerships and expanding student volunteer participation, she helped create opportunities for seniors to build social connections and remain actively engaged within their communities.
Jocelyn currently serves as a Silver Generation Ambassador with the Agency for Integrated Care, conducting regular door-to-door outreach to identify seniors who may require additional support. Through these engagements, she connects seniors with relevant government assistance schemes, helping to improve access to care and ensuring that vulnerable individuals are not overlooked.
Whether through community service, student leadership, or industry engagement, Jocelyn believes that leadership is not about standing above others, but about standing with them. The most meaningful part of her NUS experience has been the opportunity to grow alongside others while contributing to their growth in return. As she graduates from NUS, Jocelyn remains committed to strengthening communities and leading with purpose wherever she serves.
Nadya made the decision to transfer to Accountancy at the end of her first year, a choice she considers one of the best decisions she made during her time at NUS. She found herself genuinely enjoying accounting and appreciated how practical the discipline was.
More broadly, she valued her experience at NUS Business School. The curriculum gave students frequent opportunities to present, work in teams, and take part in class discussions. She especially appreciated learning from lecturers with professional experience, whose perspectives and stories helped bridge theory and practice. Equally important was the strong support system around her, from professors and administrative staff to career advisors, who were always willing to offer guidance.
As a resident of the College of Alice & Peter Tan, Nadya was part of a vibrant community that encouraged her to engage with social issues and learn from people with diverse backgrounds. The friendships she built, conversations she shared, and opportunities she embraced, including a study trip to Indochina, broadened her horizons and remain among the most meaningful parts of her university journey.
Beyond her studies, Nadya pursued a wide range of internship experiences across consulting, finance, sustainability, and the social sector. She also served as Co-President of the NUS Students’ Association for Visions of the Earth, where she had the opportunity to work alongside passionate peers and build a community of students committed to making a positive environmental impact.
Looking back, what she is most grateful for about her time at NUS are the people she met along the way. This includes friends, mentors, professors, and members of the NUS community who challenged her perspectives, supported her growth, and inspired her to keep learning.
As she begins the next chapter of her journey, Nadya hopes to continue learning, exploring new opportunities, and contributing meaningfully wherever she goes.
Youngkyung’s university experience was shaped by the opportunities she stumbled into, the resources she leaned on, and the people who walked alongside her.
Youngkyung had spent most of her life moving around, which meant she had become very good at starting over. “Where are you from?” never had a tidy answer. NUS Business School surprised her by giving her room to grow and by becoming the closest thing she had to a home away from home.
One of those opportunities sent her to Stockholm for six months on exchange, and it remains one of the most defining experiences of her time at NUS Business School. She witnessed the northern lights, lived on the other side of the world, and encountered entirely new ways of seeing and doing things. It was a chapter she never would have written for herself, and one she credits entirely to NUS Business School.
But what she holds onto most is the people she met. Somewhere between countless projects and late nights, she found her closest friends, who made a sprawling university feel small and familiar and helped her finally feel like she belonged somewhere, not just passing through.
There is a certain irony in someone as well-travelled as Youngkyung finding her footing in real estate, of all things. But it is a field she is drawn to for deeply personal reasons — behind every building and every space are the people who build lives, and the places that hold them. As she steps into the next chapter of her journey, it is this belief that will carry her forward.
She spent years learning how to leave places well. NUS Business School is where she finally learned how to belong to one.

Coming from a background outside of real estate, she pursued the degree to build a strong formal foundation in the field, and it delivered far beyond her expectations. Beyond the academics at NUS Business School, Gladys had a genuinely rewarding experience, enriched by a community of like-minded individuals who share a true passion for real estate.
