The Singapore Governance and Transparency Index (SGTI) is the leading index for assessing corporate governance practices of Singapore-listed companies. Sustainable governance is an integral component in a modern business landscape where proactive stakeholders demand greater transparency and accountability for the integrity of companies.

In 2016, the SGTI succeeded the Governance and Transparency Index as an enhanced assessment to meet the market needs of the future.

Background

The Governance and Transparency Index (GTI™) is jointly launched by The Business Times (BT) and the Centre for Governance, Institutions and Organization(s) (formerly CGFRC). The GTI™ which assesses the financial transparency of companies based on their annual announcements, is sponsored by CPA Australia.

Corporate Governance Highlights 2015 captures key trends and findings of the Governance and Transparency Index (GTI™), the results of which were released on 18 Aug 2015. The report critically examined the impact on the index and companies’ performance after all listed companies have to comply in 2015 with the revised Code of Corporate Governance 2012.

Corporate Governance Highlights 2014 is a report that summarises the trends and findings of the Governance and Transparency Index (GTI™), the results of which were released on 24 Jul 2014. The report examines a critical juncture in Singapore’s evolving corporate governance landscape following the revised Code of Corporate Governance on listed companies in November 2012.

Corporate Governance Highlights 2013 is a report that highlights the trends and findings of the Governance and Transparency Index (GTI™), the results of which were released on 01 Aug 2013. The report highlights the notable issues and trends in board leadership, remuneration disclosure as well as investor relations.

To advise the Centre for Governance, Institutions and Organization(s) on the index methodology, an advisory panel has been established comprising of one representative each from BT and CPA Australia and prominent personalities in the corporate sector. The members of the advisory panel are:
