Associate Professor, University of Toronto

My name is Mitch Hoffman. I am a labor and personnel economist, as well as an associate professor (with tenure) at the University of Toronto Rotman School of Management and an NBER Faculty Research Fellow. I study the determinants of workplace productivity and the economics of human resources, working at the intersection of labor economics, personnel & organizational economics, behavioral economics, productivity, and strategy. I am particularly interested in questions related to hiring, both in terms of strategic considerations for firms and in terms of consequences for workers and society.
