OUR GOAL

We are committed to teaching and research excellence, and to be the leading Finance Department through thought leadership.

Educational Scholarship

Co-authored by Low Tuck Kwong Professor Sumit Agarwal, this book brings to light the relevance of research, often seen as esoteric, on our daily life and decision-making in this third sequel of the book. It covers topics including the effects of climate change on property prices, purchase behavior when there is an online security breach, effects of parental bankruptcy on children, food orders during COVID lockdown, and many more.

This AI-enabled experiential simulation, developed by Senior Lecturer Emir Hrnjic, redesigns the traditional case-study approach in management education. Instead of reading a case, MBA and EMBA students interview AI-simulated executives to acquire, evaluate and reconcile information before making a financial recommendation.

This volume, co-written by Low Tuck Kwong Professor Sumit Agarwal and Associate Professor Ruth Tan, offers a comprehensive overview of the Modi administration, its wide-ranging initiatives, and their trajectory. With relevant global comparisons and well-crafted academic insights, the authors present clear conclusions, emerging possibilities, and a forward-looking perspective.

Our Initiatives

The department works closely with ABFER, an institute which provides platforms for globally prominent academics, practitioners and policymakers to exchange deep insights on pertinent Asian issues within the global context. We also collaborate with Asian Institute of Digital Finance, a research centre that focus on digital financial technologies, as well as Credit Rating Initiatives (CRI) that provides credit risk measures for both academic and professional communities. The most recent effort is the establishment of Sustainable and Green Finance Institute (SGFIN) in NUS, which leads the research and educational programmes for a more sustainable and green economy in Singapore and beyond.

A Good Foundation

The programme allows students to develop a sound financial base through a combination of class lectures, discussions, projects and cases, all of which provide a good foundation to enter the ever-changing financial sector. This journey has allowed me to further develop my network, particularly in Asia.
