NUS Business School was delighted to welcome back two of our distinguished alumni donors, Mr Shawn Shi and Ms Liu Yung-Ying, whose generosity and commitment to education continue to make a meaningful impact on our community.
A highlight of the visit was Mr Shi’s remarkable contribution, establishing two new initiatives that reflect the growing importance of technology in business and society. The Shi Chuansi & Shawn Shi Tech Star Award recognises first-year Chinese EMBA students who demonstrate excellence in technological innovation, particularly in emerging fields such as blockchain and fintech. Complementing this, the Shi Chuansi & Shawn Shi MBA Tech for Social Impact Grant supports MBA students leveraging technology to address pressing social challenges, encouraging purpose-driven innovation.

We also extend our heartfelt appreciation to Ms Liu Yung-Ying for her generous gift in founding the Liu Yung-Ying Bursary. This bursary will provide vital financial support to undergraduates from less privileged backgrounds, enabling greater access to quality education and promoting social mobility.
These contributions reflect a shared belief in the transformative power of education and the role of innovation in shaping a better future. They also underscore the strength of the School’s global alumni network, whose continued support enables us to expand opportunities for the students.
As NUS Business School marks its 60th anniversary, we remain deeply grateful for the partnership of alumni like Mr Shi and Ms Liu. Their generosity not only uplifts current students but also helps to shape a more inclusive and forward-looking future for generations to come.
