Graduates’ upward career trajectory boosts Singapore’s most established business school up six places

Singapore, 30 January 2017 – The National University of Singapore (NUS) Business School’s Master of Business Administration (The NUS MBA) programme is ranked 26th in the Financial Times’ (FT) Global MBA Ranking 2017.

Its alumni commanded a 136 per cent increase in weighted salary, earning an average of US$131,760 three years after graduation, the highest since 2006. This is an indication of the value that the NUS MBA adds to the global employability and career trajectory of its graduates.

The NUS MBA has seen a consistent increase in alumni fulfilling their stated goals since 2011. According to the survey, 82 per cent of alumni stated that their aims of pursuing an MBA were achieved, a record six-year high.

The NUS MBA has also enjoyed greater international diversity in recent years across its flagship and double-degree programmes. More alumni of the programme have greater global work experience prior to, upon graduation and three years after graduation with the international mobility ranking moving up five spots to 9th in the world.

An increase in overseas experiences such as exchanges, experiential projects, immersion programmes, and regional internships have helped to develop leaders for a global marketplace with a unique Asian perspective. This learning has contributed to an improvement in the ranking for international course experience.

The latest ranking comes after the FT’s October 2016 release of its global Executive MBA rankings, which placed the UCLA – NUS Executive MBA and The NUS Executive MBA 6th and 17th respectively.

“NUS Business School continues to gain global recognition and prestige on an international stage”, said Professor Jochen Wirtz, Vice-Dean (Graduate Studies), NUS Business School. “Our performance this year demonstrates that we are attracting top talent and producing future-ready leaders, contributing to the great sense of pride and loyalty our alumni have towards The NUS MBA.”
