Associate Professor, University of California – Irvine

Ming D. Leung is an Associate Professor of Organization and Management at the University of California, Irvine where he is also the Faculty Director of the Merage School of Business Collaboratory and an award-winning teacher. He studies careers, hiring, and labor markets, and in particular, issues pertaining to diversity and discrimination in the workforce. His work explores how career transitions between jobs and within a firm affect one’s likelihood of being hired and promoted. His publications have appeared in the top sociology and management journals, such as the American Sociological Review, American Journal of Sociology, Organization Science, and Management Science. He is currently on the editorial boards of the American Sociological Review and Administrative Science Quarterly. He lives in Southern California with his wife and three kids, where he spends his free time renovating his house.
