2020 Singapore Global Convention on

Board Leadership & Risk Management

Global Business Meet 16 to 18 January 2020

 

The Centre for Governance, Institutions and Organisations (CGIO) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Institute of Directors (IOD), India on 16 January 2020 at the Global Convention hosted by IOD in Singapore this year.

The signing of the MOU underlines IOD’s recognition of the important role CGIO plays in the corporate governance and corporate sustainability space. It is also significant as it provides CGIO with the link to a strong network of 31,000 senior executives from government, PSU and private organisations in India.

CGIO was also recognised as a knowledge partner at the IOD conference. Distinguished Professor Andrew Rose, Dean of NUS Business School delivered the keynote address at its Golden Peacock Award 2020. Prof Lawrence Loh, Director of CGIO presented a lecture at the session on ‘The Board’s Role: Governance of Risk for a Resilient Enterprise’.

The esteemed Golden Peacock Awards is helmed by a prominent panel of judges and Hon’ble Justice M. N. Venkatachaliah, Chairman, Institute of Directors and former Chief Justice, Supreme Court of India is the Chairman of the Golden Peacock Awards. Justice (Dr.) Arijit Pasayat, former Judge, Supreme Court of India and former Chairman, Competition Appellate Tribunal & Authority for Advance Ruling (Customs, Central Excise & Service Tax) is the Co-Chairman of the Golden Peacock Awards. The Global Awards are finalized by a Jury headed by Rt. Hon. Sir Richard Needham (The Earl of Kilmorey PC), Non-Executive Director, NEC Europe Ltd. & Chairman-Advisory Group, STERN UK.

The conference featured many prominent industry and organisation’s leaders from India and Singapore. Mr Peter Ong Boon Kwee, Chairman of Enterprise Singapore received a distinguished fellowship from IOD and delivered the acceptance speech at the Golden Peacocks Award dinner.For topic summary of the various presentations, please refer to the links below:
