NUS BBA

Academic Programmes

(for students who matriculated in Cohorts 2016 and before)

Second Major in Management

Students are admitted to the programme through application by invitation after they have been offered admissions to NUS (For BOTH major/minor in management).

Students in the Management Major will bid online for Business courses via CORS.  Students should attend all classes (including any tutorials) for courses they are appealing to get into, otherwise they might not get into a class even though the appeal is eventually successful.

It is very necessary for Major students to strategise well in order to be able to complete the Major. It is not uncommon for Management Major students to run out of time before they graduate, and thus have to abandon the Major. The Management Major may be converted to a Minor in Management or a Minor in Technopreneurship.

Due to severe capacity constraints, the Business School’s Career Services Office would not be able to extend assistance to students in any Minor or Major programmes offered by the School.

To fulfil the requirements of the Major in Management programme, students are to complete 12 Business courses worth 48 modular credits in total. Details are shown in the table below.

For more details about NUS Double Major Programme requirements, please refer to this link.

All courses read must be graded, unless taken under the Grade-Free First Year Scheme at the university. (Applicable for BOTH major and minor.)

How to apply:

  1. Minor in Management: No application is needed for non-business undergraduates who have not been admitted to the Minor programme at the point of admission to NUS. Interested students may still read the required business courses under Unrestricted Electives. Once the requirements for the Minor are fulfilled, students can then write in to the Business School for verification and permission to declare the Minor in their programme plan.
  2. 2nd Major in Management: Students who are not offered direct admission to the 2nd Major in Management may apply for it no later than the end of their 5th semester of study, but they need to first complete at least 4 business-coded courses(16 Units) of the Minor in Management requirements. An e-invitation to apply will be sent through the home faculties around March/April and October/November. Please note that the programme is highly competitive and meeting the minimum application requirements does not guarantee an offer of admission.
