Singapore, 17 December 2024 Students from Singapore universities and polytechnics will have hands-on experience using the latest Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) platforms and tools to develop innovative solutions for business challenges in the 2025 National University of Singapore (NUS) – GURU Network AI Innovation Challenge.

Jointly organised by the NUS Business Analytics Centre (BAC) and leading mobile entertainment company, GURU Network, the annual challenge will kick off on 23 January 2025 and offers a total prize of $70,000 to the top 8 teams.

In the challenge, participants will need to integrate GenAI tools such as MidJourney and ChatGPT to revolutionise operations, improve productivity and provide personalised solutions for various industries. An example of such solutions may involve using GenAI to generate digital content, design elements, or data-driven insights that address business challenges across various industries, such as entertainment, healthcare, e-commerce, sustainability, and finance, while significantly reducing costs and enhancing efficiency.

The top eight teams will receive mentorship from GURU Network to prepare for the finals, where a panel of experts from Google, Wiz AI and NUS Business School will judge the solutions based on criteria including business value, creativity, technical soundness and public voting.

Professor James Pang, Co-Director of the NUS BAC, said, “Over the past decade, we have worked with industry partners to make each challenge relevant and meaningful for young participants. Teaming up with GURU Network this year allows us to tap into their deep expertise in applying cutting-edge AI tools to develop groundbreaking applications across a wide variety of industries, including logistics, finance, healthcare, retail, and more. This partnership will imbue participants with fresh perspectives and mindsets to harness GenAI and improve the quality of life.”

Renee Wang, Founder and CEO of GURU Network said “At GURU Network, we believe that innovation thrives at the intersection of creativity and technology. This challenge is an incredible opportunity to inspire the next generation of problem-solvers to harness the transformative power of AI. By collaborating with NUS BAC, we aim to empower young minds to push the boundaries of what’s possible and create AI-driven solutions that improve lives and shape the future of technology and entertainment.”
