Singapore, 5 January 2026 ¾ In a global first, the National University of Singapore (NUS) Business School will conduct formal Executive MBA (EMBA) coursework at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, which takes places from 6–9 January 2026.

More than 60 senior executives and entrepreneurs from the EMBA Chinese programme will embark on a four-day module at CES 2026, the world’s premier tech event that serves as a launchpad for breakthrough innovations and a crucial networking industry platform. As part of their coursework, participants will analyse six of the most consequential deep-tech domains showcased at CES including AI systems, semiconductor innovation, robotics, mobility, smart living and energy, gaining first-hand exposure to technologies that are reshaping global industries.

Led by Professor Fu Qiang, Provost’s Chair Professor and Academic Director of the NUS EMBA programme, the latest EMBA Chinese cohort represents 25 nationalities and spans 61 industries. It comprises 80 per cent entrepreneurs and 98 per cent C-suite executives from markets such as Singapore, mainland China, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Indonesia, India, the Middle East, Africa, Europe and North America.

Technology as the new driver of globalisation

CES, which hosts more than 180,000 attendees and 4,000 tech exhibitors annually, is a global reference point for emerging technology trends. Leading companies including Google, Nvidia, Tesla, Amazon, Samsung and Sony use the event to showcase developments that will influence business and industrial practices worldwide over the next five to ten years.

NUS Business School’s decision to anchor a full academic module at CES reflects its strategic view that globalisation in the next decade will be reshaped primarily by technology, particularly advances in artificial intelligence, semiconductors, robotics and smart mobility.

In addition, it acknowledges a shift in the skill sets required by global executives, said Professor Fu. “For Asian businesses, globalisation is no longer only about entering new markets. It is increasingly about understanding the technologies that are redefining markets. Executives need first-hand exposure to AI systems, chip architectures, robotics commercialisation and the emerging mobility ecosystem. CES provides a real-time view of how these forces are evolving.”

Learning at the frontier of global technology

By embedding a deep-tech curriculum at CES, NUS Business School positions itself as a hub connecting Asian business leadership with global technology innovation, in line with its vision of “Leading from Asia, Connecting the World”, and reinforces its role as a convening point for global talent, technology and capital.

The CES module forms part of NUS EMBA’s larger strategy to integrate technology intelligence, global market exposure and executive education, equipping senior leaders to navigate shifts in cross-border investment, supply-chain redesign and emerging regulatory environments. Many members of the EMBA Chinese cohort lead companies undergoing international expansion or supply-chain restructuring across Southeast Asia, China, the Middle East and Africa, where technology fluency is becoming essential to compete globally.

Professor Fu noted that the next five years will be particularly critical for enterprises from Asia. “In markets from manufacturing to mobility and healthcare, the technological baseline is rising quickly. For Asian companies to retain competitiveness, they must track developments in AI, compute infrastructure and robotics at a global level, not only at a regional level.”
