Singapore, 17 January 2026 — The 16th edition of the National University of Singapore (NUS) Business School’s annual flagship event, the Bizad Charity Run, drew over 1,500 participants, marking its largest turnout in over five years, and raised close to S$100,000 to support financially disadvantaged business students and community beneficiaries. Mr Ong Ye Kung, Minister for Health and Coordinating Minister for Social Policies, flagged off this year’s run, which featured 5km and 10km routes through the NUS Kent Ridge campus.
Jointly organised by the NUS Business School Alumni Association and the students of NUS Bizad Club, the charity run brought together students, alumni, faculty and members of the public in a shared commitment to giving back. Proceeds from Bizad Charity Run 2026 will go towards the NUS Business School Alumni (NUSBSA) Bursary, Student Experience Fund, and selected community beneficiary, Youth Guidance Outreach Services, supporting students in need while enhancing learning opportunities beyond the classroom and uplifting youth in the wider community.
Chua Liang Ying, a Year 3 Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) student and a NUSBSA Bursary recipient, said, “Balancing my studies with financial responsibilities has been a constant challenge, and the bursary has eased this burden significantly. With this support, I can focus on my academics and participate in co-curricular activities and overseas enrichment programmes without constant financial worry. Knowing that there are donors who believe in students like me has been deeply encouraging, and I hope to support others in the same way in the future.”
Over the past 16 years, the Bizad Charity Run has raised more than S$3.3 million, engaged 14,500 participants, and supported over 600 students through the NUSBSA Bursary, underscoring its enduring impact on the NUS Business School community.
“The Bizad Charity Run is a meaningful expression of the NUS Business School community’s commitment to inclusivity and shared responsibility,” said Distinguished Professor Andrew Rose, Dean of NUS Business School. “This year’s record turnout reflects the strength and generosity of our community. By uniting students, alumni, faculty and partners around a common cause, we are not only expanding access to education, but also nurturing the values of empathy, service and purpose-driven leadership that define our School. I commend the dedication of the organising committee and thank all who have contributed to sustaining this legacy of impact.”
The fundraising drive for Bizad Charity Run 2026 is ongoing until the end of January, and members of the public are encouraged to continue supporting the initiative: https://www.nusbcr.com/donate-today
