Singapore, 13 October 2021 — The National University of Singapore (NUS) Business School and Zhejiang University International Business School (ZIBS) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for academic collaboration. Undergraduates from both schools can look forward to more exchange and internship opportunities, as well as joint courses and conferences. Faculty members will also work more closely in research.
In a virtual signing ceremony held on 11 October, Distinguished Professor Andrew Rose, Dean, NUS Business School, and Professor Ben Shenglin, Dean, ZIBS, signed the MOU, which was witnessed by Professor Ho Teck Hua, NUS Senior Deputy President and Provost, and Professor He Lianzhen, Vice President of Zhejiang University.
Prof He said, “Following the MOU signing between ZIBS and the Asian Institute of Digital Finance at NUS in September, we have now inked another collaboration partnership with NUS Business School. This signifies that ZIBS will expand the collaboration with NUS and we look forward to greater ties ahead. We aim to strengthen the exchanges of students and teachers by combining the advantages of the two countries and to cultivate high-level applied talents for the societies.”
Prof Ho said, “This collaboration will tap on the complementary strengths of NUS Business School and ZIBS to offer an enriched learning experience to students. We also hope to work more closely to improve business research and education, share insights on Asian communities and contribute solutions to real-world problems.”
Prof Ben pointed out that, as a young business school within an old university– Zhejiang University which has a 124-year history–ZIBS has already worked with various institutions across the world. This year, ZIBS’ Global Communication and Management Programme welcomed 39 international students coming from 11 countries. “Collaboration between ZIBS and NUS Business School will take the partnership to the next level and the undergraduate students exchange programme, academic exchanges, internship opportunities etc will be extremely beneficial to the students and faculties. Besides, Singapore is a global leading centre for digital economy and innovations, we hope that in the future, ZIBS can further expand the partnership with NUS Business School in many other areas.”
“The pandemic has created much tumult, but we are firmly committed to providing our students with the best education possible,” said Prof Rose. “The timely collaboration between NUS Business School and ZIBS will offer students more global exposure, especially in an increasingly competitive environment.”
