Deven Somaya

Head of Emerging Commerce Solutions, Citi,

Deven is the Head for the Emerging Commerce Solutions team and is in a global role based out of Singapore. Deven leads a team that works closely with the partnerships, strategic investments, products, sales, and geography teams and is responsible for designing and developing new client solutions as well as creating and incubating new business opportunities across Treasury and Trade Solutions (TTS) groups and client segments. The role has extensive focus on co-developing new commercial solutions with clients and ecosystem partners, identifying and assessing commercial opportunities in new product and service areas that can unlock long-term strategic value to Citi.

Deven has held several roles within Citi and prior to his current role, he was the Head of Treasury and Trade Solutions for Singapore and ASEAN (I). With over 20 years of experience in transaction banking and electronic payments, Deven has worked extensively with corporate, FI and public sector clients across multiple geographies. Deven started his career with Citi in New York as a Management Associate and has a career that spans multiple geographies and business areas within TTS. Deven has been the co-chair of the Citi Women Singapore network and has been active in leading many initiatives and engagements internally within Citi and externally with industry partners. He has served on the Digitalization Standing Committee of ABS Singapore, advisory board member to Commercial Payments International and been recognized by Women in Payments (ASEAN) for his work on Male Allyship (2024).

Deven has a Bachelor’s degree in Production Engineering from Mumbai University, India and a Master of Business Administration in Finance and Strategy from Washington University, Olin School of Business, USA.

Ronit Ghose

Head Future of Finance Team, Citi Global Insights,

Ronit Ghose runs the Future of Finance team in Citi Global Insights, Citi’s thought leadership unit. The team is focused on the intersection of the future of money, finance and emerging tech. It provides analysis and advice to Citi’s clients and the bank’s leadership. Prior to his current role, Ronit was Citi’s Global head of Banks and FinTech Research. Alongside his Citi role, Ronit is an Advisory Board member of the Financial Technology Centre at Imperial College Business School in London and at several technology firms and early-stage VC investors based in the U.K., Asia, Middle East & Africa. Before joining Citi in 1997, Ronit worked in the policy world, including as a Research Assistant for a former UK Prime Minister. Ronit’s new book “Future Money” was published in 2024.
