COVID-19 has hit many countries hard. Not only are firms facing a drastic reduction in demand, many without a digital presence are being forced to close due to various measures imposed by governments to limit physical interaction. Instead of waiting for government subsidies to compensate for lost business opportunities, many firms have stepped up activities that reflect their corporate social responsibility (CSR) instead. Will this new trend become the new norm? We will discuss the pros and cons of CSR in a fast changing economic landscape.
