Professor Qingkai Dong’s research focuses on the impact of financial reporting, particularly in the context of governmental entities such as school districts and local governments, as well as other not-for-profit organizations, including labor unions and universities. These entities often differ from corporate firms, whose primary objective is profit maximization. I am interested in the role of financial reporting and transparency in environments where profit maximization is not the primary goal.
