Thomas and Margaret Kloet Professor in Accounting, The University of Iowa

Jaron Wilde is the Thomas and Margaret Kloet Professor of Accounting and the Director of Graduate Studies for Accounting at University of Iowa. A native of Ventura, CA, he earned his undergraduate and Master’s degrees from Brigham Young University and his Ph.D. in Accounting from Texas A&M University. Before joining academia, he worked as a tax consultant for EY and as the Assistant Controller for a company near Salt Lake City, UT. He has taught Introduction to Financial Accounting and Advanced Tax Topics to undergraduate and Master’s accounting students and doctoral seminars in taxation to Ph.D. students. He has presented before the U.S. Treasury – Office of Tax Analysis. His academic research, which is published or forthcoming in outlets such as Journal of Accounting & Economics, Journal of Accounting Research, The Accounting Review, Review of Accounting Studies, and Contemporary Accounting Research, has been featured in media outlets including The New York Times, Forbes, and CFO Magazine. He and his wife, Sarah, are the proud parents of six children.
