Associate, Cornerstone Research

Wenjie Xue earned his Ph.D. in Industrial Administration with a specialization in Accounting from Carnegie Mellon University in 2019.  He served as an Assistant Professor of Accounting at NUS Business School from 2019 to 2022, before joining the economic consulting firm Cornerstone Research.  Dr. Xue’s academic research focuses on applying information economics to understand complex issues in financial reporting and disclosure, and has been published in Contemporary Accounting Research, Review of Accounting Studies, Journal of Accounting and Economics, and The Accounting Review.  His recent work focuses on the effect of transparency on AI applications development and markets for corporate control.  In his consulting practice, Dr. Xue has worked with attorneys and experts in litigation and regulatory investigations involving technology firms in Silicon Valley as well as major U.S. financial institutions.  He consulted for KPMG’s attorneys in the Silicon Valley Bank securities litigation in 2023 on loss causation and economic damages.
