Assistant Professor, Aalto University
Roope Keloharju is an Assistant Professor of Accounting at Aalto University School of Business. He received his PhD in Accounting from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. His research examines how economic instruments used for geopolitical aims—such as sanctions, foreign investment screening, and disclosure mandates—affect firm behavior and accounting information flows. He also studies how financial transparency regulations influence corporate misconduct and the control systems that uphold accountability within organizations. Recently, his work explores the epistemic transformation introduced by advances in artificial intelligence, both within corporate information systems and within the academic infrastructures that produce and validate knowledge.
