Valentino Emil Chai is a PhD candidate at Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business. Valentino’s research focuses on understanding how organizations can use cooperation and competition to create environments that bring out the best in their employees. Across three interrelated streams, he examines how individuals navigate inconsistent cooperation and competition, the distinct forms and effects of cooperation and competition, and the barriers that may thwart organizational attempts to cultivate desired levels of cooperation and competition. His research has been published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, the Journal of Applied Psychology, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, and Nature Human Behavior.
