Since the change of the Centre’s name to Centre for Governance and Sustainability (CGS) in January 2021, we have produced several reports related to sustainability in areas other than environmental, social and governance (ESG) reporting such as sustainable consumption and production, perspectives of financial institutions on sustainability disclosures, to name a few.
Our flagship Singapore Governance and Transparency Index continues its 13th year of assessment since we started corporate governance (CG) assessments in 2009. While CG has a much longer history compared to corporate sustainability, CGS’s monograph on the ‘Historical Underpinnings of Corporate Governance’ traces the development of CG as far back as the Qing dynasty.
