Lee Junior is a Partner of Expara Ventures III, an early-stage, S.E.A. Regional VC fund based in Singapore. With more than 20 years’ experience in business, Lee has enjoyed an illustrious career, backed by an extensive network that spans across industries ranging from high-tech start-ups to social enterprises. Lee founded his first venture, ToyBridge, upon his graduation. Soon after, he joined Suntec City’s Innovative Technology Initiative Team, patenting its business model, conceptualising and rolling out its many cutting-edge technology initiatives, before stepping up at iAxil Pte Ltd, the venture acceleration arm of Ascendas Pte Ltd as Vice President. With the support of Singapore’s Economic Development Board (EDB) and Jurong Town Council (JTC), Lee started ACE Nexus Pte Ltd; Singapore’s first fully privately-owned business incubator-cum-M&A house. Before joining Expara, Lee was a Director of Singapore’s leading private equity fund manager, Tembusu Partners Pte Ltd.
Lee was also able to pursue his passions outside of work. He founded The Silver Lining Project, a not-for-profit incubation program that focused on promoting the Silver (or elderly-related) Industry and growing ‘silver’ enterprises. He also served as a former Crucible Member of the Action Community for Entrepreneurs (ACE), as a Committee Member on Singapore’s Entrepreneurship Review Committee (EnRC), was appointed as Honorary Deputy Consul to the Republic of Lithuania, has contributed extensively in many institutions of higher learning, and is a qualified member of MENSA Singapore. |

Take a Leap of Faith: From MBA Graduate to Partner in Myanmar!

Already an outstanding student leader in The NUS MBA, Naithy’s big break came when she was offered an opportunity to join Solidiance in Myanmar. She bravely took it up and the decision paid off big time. Today, she enjoys the fruits of a fast tracked career in Management Consulting. Barely 5 years post MBA, she was made Managing Director of YCP Solidiance – even achieving the status of Partner earlier this year!
Naithy has over a decade of strategic advisory experience across a range of sector including FMCG, healthcare, energy, automotive and construction. Being based in Myanmar for the last six years, she has worked extensively with multinational companies exploring investment opportunities in Myanmar, with short project stints in Australia, Malaysia, Singapore, UAE and Iran. With a regional business development role, Naithy has also led projects in Indonesia, Laos, Thailand and the Philippines. Key Clients include International Finance Corporation (IFC – World Bank Group), ASEAN Secretariat, Singapore Business Federation, European Chamber of Commerce Myanmar as well as other private sector clients such as Toyota, Shell, Nestle, ABB, Cycle & Carriage Myanmar (Mercedes, Mazda, Fuso) amongst others. Prior to joining YCP Solidiance, Naithy led various buy side analysis for US and Europe based private equity firms, hedge funds and investment banks in Moody’s Analytics. |

Saurav Bhatia enjoyed a phenomenal career switch from being a web strategist with IT&T in India, to landing a role in Strategic Projects in Citi Singapore after he graduated from The NUS MBA in 2005. From there, he managed a fast tracked career with a promotion almost every 2 years to becoming the Chief Operating Office for Asia Technology, Institutional Clients Group for Citi in 2011, and Global Finance Head for Operations and Technology, Citi Private Bank in 2014. He made a jump to Standard Chartered Bank as the Global Head of Finance for Retail Banking, then after a stint as CFO in Hong Kong, assumed his current role of Managing Director, Global Head Growth Strategy for Retail Banking.
An innovative transformational leader with experience in both Digital and Traditional Banking with a proven track record of executing strategic transformational initiatives and leveraging innovative technologies, Saurav is a commercially astute CXO with successful global stints across retail, corporate & investment, and private banking. He has deep experience in key account management in the consumer goods industry (FMCG, luxury, and electronics) with special focus on starting up divisions and turning around business to growth and profitability.
His most recent role was General Manager and Director of Brand and Channel Marketing (Global) Center of Excellence with DKSH, responsible for the business transformation of global client management to marketing, helping client identify opportunities in the markets. Currently, he reopened his consulting practice to take advantage of exciting growth opportunities that lies ahead and exploring a startup venture with his business partners. |

Kim Pong is an established captain of industry, currently serving as Regional CEO, Southeast Asia, PSA International. At PSA, he is also an integral part of the Senior Management Council.
There is no doubt that Kim Pong is dedicated to making Singapore and PSA as the World’s Port of Call. His exciting career has taken him places. An outstanding honours BBA graduate from NUS, this Global Port Warrior has taken up multiple leadership positions – as Managing Director & CEO of Mersin International Port in Turkey; Senior Vice President of PSA in the Mediterranean & Middle East South Asia Region; Executive Director of PSA Zeebrugge, Belgium; Managing Director of PSA’s flagship project in Antwerp, Belgium; and Chief Operating Officer for Hesse Noord Naatie N.V. (HNN), later renamed as PSA Antwerp.
