In this BSE3071 Guest Speaker Series, you will have the opportunity to learn how institutions, businesses and governments are adapting and transforming their strategies in this era of geopolitical, political and economic turmoil.

 

You will be introduced to Germany’s leading FI Allianz and its specialist subsidiary Euler Hermes and explore the crucial impact of Economics on the 130 years old product of Trade Credit Insurance.

About The Speaker

 

Clemens has been working as the CEO, ASEAN, for Euler Hermes, a subsidiary of Allianz SE, since August 2017. On honourable basis, Clemens has been serving as a board member of the Singaporean German Chamber of Commerce since 2019. Before moving to Euler Hermes, Clemens was the Regional Head of Market Management Asia for Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) from 2015 to 2017 covering partnerships, distribution strategies and new business growth. Beforehand he worked for five years as Deputy CEO for AGCS Japan being responsible for new business growth. Prior to joining AGCS, Clemens worked for the insurance broker AON in London and Luxembourg in various senior positions. With almost 130 years operating in Trade Credit Insurance, Euler Hermes is the global leader in its field with a 36% market share. It enjoys a best in class AA financial rating by Standard & Poor’s. Fully owned by Allianz Group and headquartered in Paris, the company is present in over 50 countries with 5,800+ employees. In ASEAN, Euler Hermes has offices in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand with approx. 90 employees. Clemens holds a Master Degree in Japanese Studies, Business Administration and Political Science, a Bachelor Degree in Asian Pacific Studies and Business Administration.
