The ‘Business Action for Nature’ workshop, hosted by the Centre for Governance and Sustainability (CGS) with the support of Kering, will gather industry leaders and sustainability advocates to advance understanding and action on nature-related business practices. This workshop aims to translate insights from CGS’s recent study into actionable steps for businesses, exploring ways to better report, manage and mitigate nature-related issues.
Chief Sustainability and Institutional Affairs Officer, Kering Group, Ms Marie-Claire Daveu will open the session, followed by a presentation by CGS’s director, Prof Lawrence Loh. Prof Loh will share on the importance and business case for integrating biodiversity into core operations and highlight key findings from CGS’s study on current practices in nature-related reporting. The founding partners of Good Growth Company will also provide their critical insights into nature finance.
The workshop will also feature a panel discussion among industry leaders to exchange knowledge on nature-related issues, offering participants insights into best practices, key strategies and collaboration opportunities.

Ms Marie-Claire DAVEU
Chief Sustainability and Institutional Affairs Officer
Kering Group
Marie-Claire Daveu began her career as a technical advisor to the cabinet of Prime Minister, Jean-Pierre Raffarin, before becoming Principal Private Secretary to Serge Lepeltier, Minister of Ecology and Sustainability. In 2005, she became Director of Sustainable Development for the Sanofi-Aventis Group. From 2007 to 2012, she served as Chief of Staff to French politician, Nathalie Kosciusko-Morizet, working in various secretaries of state and then at the Ministries of Ecology, Sustainability, Transport and Housing.
In 2012, she was appointed Kering’s Chief Sustainability Officer and Head of International Institutional Affairs. She sets out the strategy and ambitious objectives as well as implementing a set of best practices within the Group and the Houses. Today, Kering is a pioneer and recognized leader in sustainability.
A French national, she is a graduate of the Paris Institute of Technology for Life, Food and Environmental Sciences (ENGREF). She also earned a postgraduate diploma (DESS) in public administration from Dauphine University, Paris.

Mr Thierry MARTY
President, North and South-East Asia Pacific, Kering
Thierry Marty comes with over 20 years of luxury experience in Asia, and has lived in Singapore, Tokyo and Seoul. He started his career at Deloitte before joining LVMH in 1995. His career took him from finance to general management roles at Fendi, Celine, Cartier, Bulgari and Louis Vuitton.

Ms Esther AN
Chief Sustainability Officer, City Developments Limited
A sustainability practitioner for over two decades, Esther published the first sustainability report in Singapore in 2008 and issued the first green bond by a Singapore company in 2017. Conferred the 2018 SDG Pioneer for Green Infrastructure and A Low Carbon Economy by the UN Global Compact, and named amongst 25 Trailblazing Women against Climate Change by Reuters in 2023 as well as the inaugural TIME100 Climate Leaders in Business 2023 list, Esther sits on the boards or advisory platforms of international organizations including:

- Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures
- UN PRI Real Estate Advisory Committee
- UN ESCAP Sustainable Business Network Executive Council

After a career in international development and investment, together with Nick Keppel-Palmer founded Good Growth Company to provide an alternate business model that fosters nature regeneration. Focuses on developing financial instruments that can integrate regenerative systems and channel value towards key systems leverage points.

Mr Nick KEPPEL-PALMER
Founding Partner, Good Growth Company
Nick Keppel-Palmer specializes in strategy and innovation, with a focus on brand strategy and systemic value creation. More recently, he’s been focused on how businesses can prosper by doing good, especially for the restoration of the environment and nature.
In his past roles, Nick has worked on growth strategy for the Volkswagen Group, food and farming strategy for the UK Government, and was the global head of strategy at Wolff Olins.

Mr Eric LIM
Chief Sustainability Officer, United Overseas Bank
Mr Eric Lim is Managing Director and the Chief Sustainability Officer at United Overseas Bank Limited (UOB). His role is to drive UOB’s sustainability strategy and objectives of helping businesses and individuals transition to a sustainable future and fostering social and environmental well-being among colleagues and communities.
Eric was also the Head of Group Finance from 2013 to 2022, where he was responsible for the Bank’s core finance functions spanning financial strategy, capital management, regulatory and financial reporting, tax management, business finance and performance management.
Eric holds positions in key UOB management committees, including Chairperson of the Group Sustainability Committee. He is also a member of the Management Committee and holds directorships in UOB affiliated companies.
Prior to joining UOB, Eric was Managing Director and Head of Wholesale Banking Finance, Singapore and Southeast Asia for Standard Chartered Bank, responsible for driving the strategic partnership between the wholesale business and finance teams. During this time, Eric led the finance functions covering commercial banking, financial markets and investment bankinEric began his career with GE Capital where he took on various executive positions in the areas of financial planning and analysis, mergers and acquisitions, audit and controllership. He lived and worked in more than 20 countries, with particular focus in the USA and Japan during that time.
Eric holds a Bachelor of Accountancy from the Nanyang Technological University and an Executive Master of Business Administration from the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University.

Prof Lawrence LOH
Director, CGS and Professor in Practice of Strategy and Policy, NUS Business School
Prof Lawrence Loh is Director, Centre for Governance and Sustainability (CGS) at the NUS Business School, National University of Singapore (NUS). He is also a Professor of Strategy and Policy at NUS Business School and Visiting Professor at the Wealth Management Institute in Singapore.
Prof Loh received a PhD in Management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. His thesis on technology governance was awarded first prize in the worldwide doctoral dissertation competition in the field of management information systems.
At CGS, Prof Loh leads the Sustainability Reporting initiative covering ASEAN and Singapore corporations. He also steers the Singapore Governance and Transparency Index and the ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard projects. Prof Loh heads the studies on board and workplace diversity and business integrity.
Prof Loh is a regular commentator on governance and sustainability for many leading global and local media. Over the years, he has served as a judge for various prestigious sustainability awards in Asia and Singapore.
Prof Loh teaches Governance and Sustainable Business for NUS Executive MBA program. He regularly conducts executive development programs in governance, sustainability and strategy for board directors, senior management and business professionals.

Founder and CEO, Fashion Pulpit
Raye Padit is the founder and CEO of The Fashion Pulpit, Asia’s first and largest swap shop. Since its inception, the platform has circulated over 500,000 fashion items and served more than 7,000 members.
Raye is dedicated to raising awareness about the social and environmental impacts of fast fashion. He offers a sustainable alternative through clothes swapping, upcycling, thrifting, and education.
Featured in prominent media outlets like The Straits Times, Business Times, and SCMP, Raye has received multiple awards, including the Impact Awards Finalist and Innovative Sustainable Fashion Award.
A sought-after speaker, Raye conducts talks, workshops, and mentorship sessions on circular fashion concepts, entrepreneurship, and sustainability across Asia. He has spoken at TEDx, PechaKucha, and Green Is The New Black, among other events.
