Mr C K Venkataraman

Managing Director, Titan Company Ltd

Mr. Venkataraman, a post graduate diploma holder in Management from IIM-Ahmedabad, joined Titan Company Limited in 1990, and worked in the Advertising and Marketing functions before becoming the Head of Sales & Marketing for the Titan brand in 2003.

Thereafter he took charge of the Jewellery Division in 2005 and last held the position of Chief Executive Officer, Jewellery till September 30, 2019. Subsequently, he assumed office as Managing Director of the Company from October 1, 2019.

Prof Lawrence Loh

Director, CGS, NUS Business School,

National University of Singapore

Prof Lawrence Loh is Director, Centre for Governance and Sustainability (CGS) at NUS Business School, National University of Singapore where he is Professor in Practice of Strategy and Policy. He is Visiting Professor at Wealth Management Institute in Singapore.

Prof Loh received a PhD in Management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). His thesis on technology governance was awarded global first prize in the worldwide doctoral competition in the field of management information systems. While at MIT, he completed the doctoral general examinations in strategy and policy and the doctoral qualifying examinations in finance and economics.

At CGS, Prof Loh leads key sustainability initiatives for Asia-Pacific, ASEAN and Singapore. He steers the Singapore Governance and Transparency Index and ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard. Prof Loh also heads studies on business integrity and leadership diversity. In the specific domain of Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) relevant for strategic management and sustainable finance, Prof Loh has extensive professional engagements in the global and regional arenas. He directs the CGS initiative that is commissioned by the Singapore Exchange to conduct sustainability assessments of all listed companies on the Exchange.

He also heads the ASEAN sustainability reporting initiative covering 6 countries in collaboration with ASEAN CSR Network and steered the Asia-Pacific sustainability reporting assessment covering 13 jurisdictions with PwC. Prof Loh was a lead investigator on a study in sustainable banking for all listed banks in ASEAN in collaboration with WWF. He spearheads a new study on climate reporting in ASEAN companies in partnership with GRI.

Prof Loh was lead consultant for technology and innovation manpower studies commissioned by the Singapore government. He was chief facilitator for Singapore’s National Technology Plan and served on the Think Tank for Science and Technology. Prof Loh consulted for Fortune 500 companies and international organizations in technology policy. He has been active in advising entrepreneurial startups in strategic advancement.

Prof Loh is a regular commentator on business and policy issues for leading global media such as AFP, BBC, Bloomberg, China Central Television, China Daily, China Global Television Network, CNBC, CNN, Deal Street Asia, Eco-Business, Financial Times, Forbes, NetEase, Nikkei Asia, People’s Daily, South China Morning Post, Tech in Asia, The Washington Post, Xinhua, Yahoo Finance as well as Singapore media such as Berita Harian, CNA, Lianhe Zaobao, Singapore Business Review, The Business Times, The Edge Singapore, The New Paper, The Straits Times and TODAY. Prof Loh has a citation and commentary count of about 600 per year, including numerous front-page headlines, across various media worldwide.

Prof Loh has delivered executive development programs in sustainability and ESG for many leading clients and institutions across Asia, ASEAN and Singapore. He is also a regular speaker at global and regional events on themes in ESG strategies and investments. Prof Loh is a winner of the NUS Annual Teaching Excellence Award and the NUS Business School Teaching Excellence Award.

Prof P D Jose

Professor, Strategy, IIMB

Dr. Jose is a Professor in the Strategy Area. Prior to joining IIMB, he was a member of the faculty at the Administrative Staff College of India, Hyderabad.

Professor Jose teaches core courses on strategy and electives on Corporate Environmental Management, Sustainable Enterprises and Understanding Corporate Failures. He has been a visiting faculty at Cardiff Business School, IIM Kozhikode, and Gothenburg School of Business, Economics and Law at the University of Gothenburg.

Professor Jose was a Fulbright Fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Boston, and Kenan-Flagler Business School, North Carolina during 1999-2000. He also visited the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, as a research scholar on a UNDP/GoI fellowship.

Prof Jose holds BSc (Physics and Computers) from Institute of Science, Mumbai, India; Post Graduation in Forestry Management (PGDFM), Indian Institute of Forest Management (IIFM), Bhopal, India & Fellow, IIM Ahmedabad, India.

Mr Thomas Thomas

CEO, ASEAN CSR Network Singapore

Thomas played an integral role in the set-up of ASEAN Corporate Social Responsibility Network (ACN) in 2010 and as CEO, continues to provide oversight and strategic direction for the organisation.  ACN was established to promote and enable responsible business conduct in ASEAN Member States.

ACN is the responsible and inclusive business champion with the ASEAN Business Advisory Council. They developed a Code for Responsible and Inclusive Business and is building up the ASEAN Responsible and Inclusive Business Alliance (ARAIBA) to be the region’s network of businesses supporting responsible business conduct.  Thomas is driving this initiative.

Thomas has extensive experience in CSR and responsible business conduct, serving on various initiatives in the region and globally. He currently chairs the ISO26000 Stakeholder Global Network, a multi-stakeholder network of professionals involved in promoting ISO26000, the International Guidance Standard for Social Responsibility. He did research on sustainability related issues, including, sustainability reporting, business integrity and human rights.

He co-chaired the Singapore National Tripartite Initiative on CSR and was the founding Executive Director of the Singapore Compact for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), now operating as the Global Compact Network Singapore.

Thomas had been active with trade unions, co-operatives, the consumer movement and social enterprises and also served as a Nominated Member of Parliament in Singapore.

Prof Padmini Srinivasan

Chairperson, Centre for Corporate Governance and Citizenship, IIMB

Prof Padmini Srinivasan has varied professional interests in teaching, research and consulting in the areas of Financial Reporting, Management Accounting, Corporate Governance and  accountability.  Prior to joining IIMB, she worked in industry for more than 14 years in various positions in Treasury, Planning, MIS and Accounting. She is also a special invitee to the Accounting standards Board of ICAI.

Professor Srinivasan has been consultant to many organizations and has experience in the areas of design and implementation of management information systems and design of cost accounting and other corporate accounting systems.

Prof Padmini is a qualified Company Secretary and Chartered Accountant and done her PhD from the National Law School of India University, Bangalore.
