Founder & CEO, Doctor Anywhere

Mr. Lim Wai Mun is the Founder and CEO of Doctor Anywhere, a tech-led healthcare company operating across Southeast Asia.

Wai Mun’s educational foundation in mechanical engineering, acquired at the National University of Singapore, laid the groundwork for his diverse career. Initially, he delved into the world of finance, serving as an investor for three years with Standard Chartered Private Equity, specialising in real estate investments across Asia.

Building on this experience, Wai Mun embarked on a nine-year journey with Temasek Holdings, a Singapore-based investment firm. During his tenure, he also helped to conceive and launch Pavilion Energy. This venture has since grown to become a leading global LNG company.

In 2017, Wai Mun’s entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish Doctor Anywhere, a tech-led healthcare company aimed at providing personalised, borderless and inclusive healthcare. It delivers holistic healthcare for 2.5 million people across six countries, with services spanning primary & specialist care, telehealth, preventive health, and an online health and wellness marketplace.

The company’s remarkable achievements include consecutive appearances on LinkedIn’s prestigious list of Top Startups in Singapore for three consecutive years, in 2021, 2022, and 2023. It has been ranked #11 in Singapore’s Fastest-Growing Companies 2024 list compiled by The Straits Times and Statista, and #5 in Financial Times and Statista’s High-Growth Companies Asia-Pacific 2023 list.

Wai Mun was honoured with the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year (Health Care Services) award in 2022 for his entrepreneurship and contribution to the healthcare industry, and subsequently named overall country winner as EY Entrepreneur of the Year 2022 Singapore.

He continues to mentor and guide aspiring entrepreneurs, and was most recently a resident judge on CNA’s ‘The Big Spark’, an eight-part business reality TV show gathering 24 start-up teams across Southeast Asia, as a platform to raise capital and inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs across the region.

Dr Tan Hong Ming (Moderator)

TAN Hong Ming is Deputy Head and Senior Lecturer at the Department of Analytics and Operations, NUS Business School, National University of Singapore. In his current role, Hong Ming is responsible for teaching and coordinating modules in the Undergraduate, MBA, Executive MBA, and Master of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA) programs. He is also involved in executive education programs such as Leading with Big Data Analytics and Machine Learning, and Practical Decision Making Using Data Science.

Apart from teaching, Hong Ming is also involved in industrial research projects such as the AI-led Smart Data Centre Management Application where he is co-PI, the SIA Corp Lab, and Institute of Mental Health. He is the Lead AI Advisor for X0PA AI, Nexushomes, and student led clubs Business Analytics Consulting Team and NUS Private Equity Society. He manages teams of Data Scientists, PhD students, research assistants, and interns, guiding and providing direction for the various research projects.
