Robin Hu
Mr Robin Hu joined Temasek in December 2016 and is presently its Head International Policy Group. In 2021, he assumed the Chairman role of SingEx Holdings Pte. Ltd., a company that operates the Singapore Expo. He is also Chairman of Mandai Nature Fund Ltd., a Temasek endowment with the mission to protect nature’s habitat and biodiversity in the South East Asia region. He is a Distinguished Fellow at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy Executive Education.
Before joining Temasek, Mr Hu was Chief Executive Officer of the South China Morning Post (“SCMP”) Group in Hong Kong. Prior to SCMP, he was Senior Executive Vice President, Chinese Newspapers and Newspaper Services of Singapore Press Holdings (“SPH”), where he was responsible for managing the group’s three Chinese dailies, a bilingual free-sheet, events and exhibitions business, retail and production operations.
Mr Hu began his career in the Information Technology industry in Singapore. He was Director Planning and Infrastructure of the then National Computer Board and later Managing Director (Global Business) of Singtel NCS Ltd. In the nineties, Mr Hu worked in China first as the Regional Director (China) for the Singapore Economic Development Board based in Suzhou and later as Counsellor (Industry and investment) with the Singapore Embassy in Beijing. At the turn of millennium, Mr Hu had a stint in the then burgeoning dotcom industry as SVP and Country GM of NASDAQ listed Asiacontent.com based in Beijing.
Mr Hu holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Mathematics from the University of Kent and a Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of Wales. He was awarded an honorary doctorate degree by his alma mater for his accomplishments in the media industry.
