The conference brought together accounting scholars from universities around the world and provided an excellent opportunity to learn about recent developments in accounting research and to interact with researchers working across different areas of the field.<\/p>\n\n<p> During the conference, I attended keynote presentations and research sessions covering a broad range of topics in accounting, including financial reporting, disclosure, corporate governance, and related areas. The presentations introduced me to new research questions, data sources, and empirical approaches. In particular, observing the discussions between presenters, discussants, and other participants helped me better understand how researchers motivate the economic importance of a question, establish a paper\u2019s incremental contribution, and distinguish among competing explanations through empirical tests. These discussions were especially useful for thinking about the design and positioning of my own research.<\/p>\n\n    <p> The conference also provided valuable opportunities for academic discussions beyond the formal sessions. I interacted with faculty members and other researchers and learned about their ongoing projects and perspectives on current developments in accounting research.<\/p>\n    <p> These conversations broadened my understanding of the field and provided useful ideas for both my current projects and potential future research.<\/p>\n\n    <p> Overall, attending TMAC 2026 was a valuable part of my doctoral training. It allowed me to gain experience in communicating and evaluating academic research, receive valuable feedback, and engage with the broader international accounting research community.
