Diamonds took centre stage at the masterclass \u201cShaping the Next Sustainability Era in Asia\u201d, held as part of NUS Business School\u2019s Diamond Jubilee celebrations on 14 August 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Delivered by Prof Lawrence Loh, Director of the NUS Centre for Governance and Sustainability (CGS), the session took the audience on a journey from carbon (the element that forms diamonds) and global climate agreements to sustainability in Asia and uncovering the hidden gems of collaboration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In focus was the comparison between carbon neutral and net zero, as well as the implications of setting short-term and long-term climate targets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prof Loh pointed out that Asia is going through a transition period, and that inter-governmental collaboration efforts can bring sustainability forward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He also drew a parallel between the 4Cs of diamonds and the pillars of creating lasting impact:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
