About Centre for Governance, Institutions and Organizations

The Centre for Governance, Institutions and Organisations (CGIO) was established by the National University of Singapore (NUS) Business School in 2010 and aims to promote relevant and impactful research on governance issues that are relevant to Asia, including corporate governance, corporate sustainability, governance of family firms, state-linked companies, business groups, and institutions. CGIO organises events such as public lectures, industry roundtables and academic conferences on topics related to governance.

Research Associate  

Job Description
Publish journal articles and lead research projects on corporate governance and sustainability under the guidance of Principal Investigators (faculty members). 

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Put up research proposals
  • Write up journal articles for publication
  • Lead project management
  • Compile, analyse, interpret and maintain data
  • Supervise and liaise with student assistants to code data
  • Prepare briefs, reports, articles and presentations
  • Meet stakeholders and project partners
  • Monitor project budget
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Principal Investigators

Job Requirements

  1. Master’s degree in Master of Social Sciences (Applied Economics), Business, Economics or equivalent
  2. Familiarity with journal publication 
  3. Familiarity with research project management
  4. Familiarity with company documents such as annual reports 
  5. Familiarity with corporate sustainability issues and trends 
  6. Proficient in spreadsheet, database, and basic data analysis
  7. Data analysis, modelling with statistical packages
  8. Report writing
  9. Strong command of the English language, particularly with good writing ability
  10. A team player who is meticulous and responsible
