The China Business Centre (CBC), Centre for Governance, Institutions and Organisation (CGIO), together with Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) jointly organised the Academic Roundtable on State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) in China: From Control to Reforms on 5 December 2016.
The Academic Roundtable featured presentations from Professor Chang Sea-Jin, Lim Kim San Chair Professor and Professor Oliver Li, Director, CBC and Musim Mas Chair Professor in Sustainability. Both speakers are eminent professors from NUS Business School who presented diverse research perspectives and views on the challenges and solutions to transforming China SOEs. This was followed by a robust panel discussion with panellists such as Professor Chang and Li, Dr Ian Selby, CIMA’s Research Director and Ms Annie Song, Editor-in-Chief of Fortune Times (时代财智). The panel segment was moderated by Associate Professor Lan Luh Luh, Associate Professor at NUS Business School and Faculty of Law, National University of Singapore.
CGIO also launched the report by Professor Chang Sea-Jin, ‘The Performance of State Owned Enterprises in China: An Empirical Analysis of Ownership Control through SASACs’ at the event.
Approximately 90 corporate, research and academic participants attended the seminar.
