Competition 2015

Competition Information

Competition Objective

Teams will compete to create the best business strategy for the assigned case. The objective of the business strategy is to solve a challenge faced by one of Cerebration’s case sponsors. The challenges, presented in a case format, are based on real-life scenarios and require participants to propose comprehensive, innovative and feasible solutions. Details on the strategic and specific functional areas that need to be covered in the plan will be defined in the individual case studies.

The cases are prepared with the input of sponsoring companies, NUS faculty and the Cerebration Team.
Proposed solutions to the business cases usually include scenarios and topics related (but not limited to) the following business aspects:

Market analysis and projections
Organisational structure
Financial projections and funding sources
Operational strategy
Possible issues/limitations
Community impact
Commercialisation strategy

Team Structure

Teams have to register with 3 MBA students. All members of the team must be enrolled at the same business school.

1st round – Executive Summary and 3 minute video presentation

Each team will need to submit an executive summary of their strategy by the submission deadline.

Presentation Video

Each team will need to submit a 3-minute video presenting their strategy in a more comprehensive way.

The top 4 teams from each case will qualify for the Semi finals round which will take place in Singapore. The flight costs will be covered by Cerebration.


The semi-finalist teams will have their first face-off before a judging panel that will include representatives from the sponsoring companies and NUS faculty.

Each team will be given 30 minutes to present their detailed solution, followed by 15 minutes of Q&A.

For each of the case challenges, two teams will be selected to enter the final round.


The four finalists will compete by presenting their strategies to a live audience and the judging panel. The panel will comprise senior representatives of the Sponsoring Companies, distinguished leaders from the Singapore business community and NUS faculty.

The team with the best strategy will be the winner of Cerebration 2015 and be awarded with the Grand Prize.
