China’s Belt-Road Initiative (BRI) calls for massive investment in infrastructure to improve interconnectivity and promote economic growth. Singapore, as the regional financial hub and international business centre, could contribute enormously to the implementation of the initiative as the gateway to facilitate regional collaboration.
On August 27, Dr. Chu Gang, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of China International Capital Corporation (CICC) spoke on the future implementation of BRI.
In the subsequent panel discussion Professor Bernard Yeung, Dean of NUS Business School, and Professor Liew Mun Leong, Chairman of Changi Airport, presented perspectives from China and Singapore, with a broad vision for the transformation of the regional economy in answer to Belt and Road Initiative.
