Matthias Breuer is Heisenberg-Professor for Corporate Reporting & Regulation at Goethe University Frankfurt, where he studies corporate transparency and information verification, with particular attention to the role of regulation in addressing corporate information and sustainability issues. His work has appeared in The Accounting Review, Journal of Accounting and Economics, Journal of Accounting Research, Review of Accounting Studies, and Review of Financial Studies. He is principal investigator of the DFG-funded “Corporate Reporting & Regulation” project (Heisenberg Programme) and a research fellow of TRR 266 \u2013 Accounting for Transparency, and he has held fellowships at the Centre for Advanced Studies on the Foundations of Law and Finance and, as an affiliate fellow, at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business’s Stigler Center. Before joining Goethe University, he was Associate Professor of Business at Columbia Business School and Visiting Associate Professor of Accounting at Chicago Booth.
