He received his PhD in Accounting from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. His research examines how economic instruments used for geopolitical aims\u2014such as sanctions, foreign investment screening, and disclosure mandates\u2014affect firm behavior and accounting information flows. He also studies how financial transparency regulations influence corporate misconduct and the control systems that uphold accountability within organizations.
