Social Innovation and Social Entrepreneurship

Social Innovation and Social Entrepreneurship are steadily being recognised as the answer to complex social needs by bringing novel solutions to tackle myriad social problems. The social innovation and social entrepreneurship landscapes in Asia are vibrant, rich, variegated and complex. Sustaining this cross-sectoral ecosystem calls for institutions of higher learning to take on the increasingly important role in incubating entrepreneurial leaders and steer the formation of a socially conscious new economy.

The Social Innovation and Social Entrepreneurship programme will focus on closely related research and educational activities, including:

  • Generating high quality research and educational modules on social innovation and social entrepreneurship based on Asian experiences
  • Collecting case studies of social enterprise, socially responsible business, and social innovation project in Asia
  • Exploring building a knowledge sharing platform on social innovation education in Asia
  • Assessing the ecosystem built on multi-stakeholder collaboration to bring sustainability to social enterprises and social innovations
