The National University of Singapore (NUS) Business School is looking for a Research Assistant to join the SPIRE team (https://bschool-spire.nus.edu.sg/). He/she will assist Professor Ivan Png in applied microeconomic research. Duties include assisting with fieldwork, compiling data from primary and secondary sources, analysis and programming, algebraic analysis, reviewing research, and writing. Current projects include field experiments and studies of productivity at foodcourts, hawker centers, and supermarkets.
Qualifications and skills:
Honours degree in computing, engineering, science, economics, or business. Skilled in programming and statistics; basic understanding of economics and social sciences. Willing to work independently, diligently, and learn. You should have good interpersonal skills and speak English and Chinese for the fieldwork.
This is a particularly good opportunity if you are interested in PhD studies. The research assistantship will give you training and exposure to research in applied microeconomics. The previous two research assistants worked for two years and then enrolled in top North American PhD programs in Economics. The current incumbent is on a similar track.
Full-time from June 2020 for one year, renewable. Part-time until joining full-time.
