On 29 October 2014, the fourth Singapore Board Diversity Report was launched by CGIO, together with BoardAgender-SCWO. The report was made possible through the generous support of UBS, SGX and ACCA. The launch event was graced by Guest-of-Honour, Ms Grace Fu, Prime Minister's Office, Second Minister for the Environment and Water Resources and Second Minister for Foreign Affairs. The launch was attended by prominent guests from government bodies, corporate entities and the media.
Ms Grace Fu delivered a speech calling out companies to develop more transparent board recruitment procedures. Thereafter, Dr Marleen Dieleman, Associate Director of CGIO, presented findings of the report, which saw boards diverse in gender, ethnicity and age outperform their peers. This was followed by a robust panel discussion where panellists shared their thoughts on the role of government and regulatory bodies as well as companies themselves can play in shaping an inclusive and diverse corporate culture in Singapore.
