The CPA Forum returns on this year on the 24th July 2014 with the theme "Quality Governance – Your Strategic Edge". This forum is proudly organized by the CPA Australia which saw over 60 participants whom are C-level executives, directors, investment analysts, investor relation managers, investors, lawyers, accountants, policy makers and people with interest in the latest developments in corporate governance. The highlight of this forum is the announcements of the main findings in the latest Governance and Transparency Index (GTI) 2014, which is now into its sixth year.
The forum began with Associate Professor Lawrence Loh presenting the latest findings from GTI 2014 - the most comprehensive study of the listed companies in Singapore. Professor Lawrence also discussed on the latest GTI2014 scores, trends, and the areas for improvements. Thereafter, awards were presented to the top 6 listed companies in Singapore based on their GTI scores.
This was followed by an invigorating panel discussion with distinguished panelists from Baker Technology, Hong Leong Finance, Sembcorp Industries, Tuan Sing Holdings, and CPA Australia. The panelists shared their insights on the current landscape of Singapore's corporate governance and how companies can achieve higher standards of governance, and the challenges faced along the way. Participants attended the post-forum networking session, and continued discussing the challenges raised and debated during the panel discussion.
