The Singapore launch of the ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard was jointly launched by CGIO and Singapore Institute of Directors (SID) on 4 April 2014. CGIO partnered with SID to present the Singapore results and report of the ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard for 2013, where the corporate governance performance of the Top 100 listed companies on the Singapore Exchange were analysed.
Corporate governance expert speakers Mr John Lim, SID's Immediate Past Chairman and Associate Professor Lawrence Loh, examined the findings of the Singapore country level report. The event was graced by Mr Ng Yao Loong, Executive Director (Financial Markets Strategy) of the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), and Mr Mohd Sani Ismail of the Asian Development Bank (ADB). An informative panel discussion ensued with distinguished panelists such as Mr Richard Teng, Chief Regulatory Officer of SGX and Mr Piyush Gupta, CEO of DBS Bank. The panel was moderated by Mr Daniel Ee, Council Member of SID.
The Scorecard, supported by the MAS and SGX, is a landmark joint initiative between the ASEAN Capital Markets Forum and the ADB. Based on the five areas OECD Corporate Governance Principles, it is one of several regional capital market integration initiatives promoting an interlinked ASEAN capital market.
