Application Procedure

Online Application:

The online application form is available from 01 October 2008 to 28 February 2009 at mba.nus.edu

This online application is very flexible, can be paced at one's convenience, allows for changes and reduces potential for errors in reading handwriting. You can choose to save and continue with your application at a later time before submission.

Apart from your personal details, education qualifications and employment history, you will also have to complete three to four essays which will allow us to assess your thought processes and language skills.

Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT)

Otherwise known as the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT), this is a standardized admission tool used by top business schools to assess the qualifications of applicants for advanced study in business and management. The challenge is that the GMAT measures basic verbal, mathematical, and analytical writing skills which you may have long forgotten especially if you need at least two years of working experience to get into the NUS MBA program ;-) but the good news is that with a bit of practice, you obtain a satisfactory score in order to qualify for the NUS MBA. More information and a FREE GMAT test can be found at www.mba.com. The higher the GMAT score, the better your chances of getting in.

Note that GMAT is not the only factor we consider although it is an integral part of your admission decision. Ultimately, we still consider the applicant's profile as a whole.

NUS GMAT Code is DRT-MK-35 for Full Time MBA or DRT-MK-59 for Part Time MBA

TOEFL/IELTS:

Only applicable for those whose undergraduate studies was not done in English.

  • TOEFL NUS MBA Institution Code is 9082 & Department Code is 02
  • IELTS NUS MBA Institution Code is 0677

Official Transcripts & Attested Photocopied Degree Scroll:

From the university in which you completed your undergraduate studies. To aid you in obtaining the relevant documents, you can fill up and fax the Transcript Request Form to the Registrar's Office of your university and get them to send a copy of your official transcripts over to NUS. Alternatively, you may also send attested marksheets by the university or by a notary public. For graduates of the three local Singapore universities, NUS, NTU and SMU, you will only need to submit a copy of your official trancripts & photocopied degree scroll.

To expedite the application process, you may wish to send us a photocopied transcript / marksheet / degree scroll while we wait for your official ones. Only with the official documents can we extend you an official letter of offer.

Two Referee Reports:

We would need you to provide us with two referee reports in the NUS format which will be released on this page when the application window opens. Kindly adhere strictly to this format though you are free to obtain additional supporting documents.

Application Fee:

No Application Fee will be collected for the 2007 Intake. However, candidates are strongly encouraged to send in their application as soon as possible between the period of Oct 2006 to Mar 2007. As applications will be reviewed and candidates interviewed on a rolling basis, applying early will allow you to know your acceptance status earlier. If you do not apply early, note that you will be competing to get in with the 'late' applicants - not a good sign if you want to get into a post grad program; our seats are limited and they fill up very quickly; and our system tends to be hogged up with the last minute applicants as the deadline nears.

Company Approval Form:

For part time applicants only. To download the form, right click on the link Company Approval Form

ADB Application Form:

While all applicants will be automatically considered for the scholarships they are eligible for, some scholarships like ADB requires the submission of a scholarship application form to the external organization funding the scholarship, namely the Asian Development Bank - Japan.
