| East-West All Star Business Challenge |
| 16 teams from 12 universities across the world gathered in Beijing on 5 Jan 2009 to participate in the East-West All Star Business Challenge, an exclusive non-profit case challenge organised by the Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business in conjuction with Microsoft "Firenze|China". Participating teams were given the task of presenting a business plan to promote Microsoft products using viral marketing in different markets around the globe. In the first segment of the competition, teams represented their university to compete for honours, while in the second segment, new teams were formed consisting members from different universities. One NUS MBA student, Muthraman Ganesan, was a member of the combined team which won first runner-up in the collaboration segment. |
| Thammasat Asia Moot Corp |
| The Four Seasons Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand was the venue for the Thammasat Asia Moot Corp'09 held from March 10-12. 12 Finalist teams were invited to compete in this challenge, a prelude to the Global Moot Corp to be held later in Texas. The team from NUS, consisting of Muthuraman Ganesan, Pavaithra Jayakumar, and Srinivasa Varadhan Kannan, and mentored by Prof. Andrew Delios, presented an "Education For All" business model in front of a distinguished panel of judges. Although the team from NUS did not manage to clinch any honours, the team members took home with them a newfound learning experience that would be cherised for many years to come. |
| UCLA Global Business Leadership Competition |
Our students (Team Apex) won 2nd place in the Global Business Leadership Competition held in UCLA, Anderson School of Management from 2-4 April 2009, amidst stiff competition from teams such London Business School,Chicago Business School, HEC Paris, Peking University, UCLA Anderson School of Management, and Fudan University. Congratulations to Richard Rubnan Que (team leader), Megha Mittal, Karla P Hotchkiss, Saurabh Kaushik & (Tony) Apurbakanti Mukherjee for doing NUS proud!

| HKUST MBA International Business Plan Competition |
|

The Finals of the HKUST MBA International Business Plan Competition was held in Hong Kong from 2-4 April. The team from NUS, BIOLOGIX NEUTRACEUTICALS, comprising team members Jagdish Gupta and Adarsh Abhineet, and mentored by Prof Lee Khai Sheang, excelled in the field of over 80 entries and emerged as one of the top 5 teams in the competition. For their outstanding efforts, the team was awarded the 'Honorable Mention' award.
