Commencement 2009 will be held in the first and second weeks of July 2009. We would appreciate it if you could confirm your particulars and indicate whether you would attend the ceremony through the online registration system at the Commencement website http://www.nus.edu.sg/commencement/2009. The system will be opened from now to 9 June 2009. You may change (or check) your attendance anytime during this period.
All information on the Commencement ceremonies will be disseminated through the Commencement website and via your NUS email account. Please check these regularly for the most up-to-date information. In an effort to be environmentally friendly, we do not normally send information by post on Commencement matters. Nonetheless, if there is a change in your mailing address, please update the Registrar's Office at https://integral.nus.edu.sg/pif/pif_addr_web.hompage

Vertification of Name and Collection of Degree Scrolls
The degree scrolls will be printed and distributed on a semester basis. If you have officially/legally changed your name, please inform the Registrar's Office and present the original documents for vertifcation by the stipulated deadline. Complimentary Copy of Academic Transcript
With effect from the graduating cohort of 2007, students who have successfully completed their degree requirements will receive a complimentary copy of their academic transcript together with their degree scroll. To apply for additional transcript(s), please visit the Registrar's Office website at http://www.nus.edu.sg/registrar/adminpolicy/transcripts.html Please note that the degree conferred will only be printed on the transcript after the date of conferment. There will be a minimum charge imposed from Registrar's Office and MBA Office for additional copies of transcripts.
FAQ for MBA Graduates
- What do I need to do to file for graduation?
You need not do anything to file for graduation. After your exams, a rigorous internal process will kick-start to file you for graduation. This process will take about 1.5 months.
- How do I know I’ve graduated?
You will receive a conferment letter and a letter detailing graduate administrative details once you are conferred which is about 1.5 months after your exams. These documents will be sent to your residence. Please ensure that your mailing address is updated in GEARS.
- When can I collect my complimentary transcript and degree scroll (graduation documents)?
You may collect your graduation documents from Registrar’s Office (Level 4, Lee Kong Chian Wing, University Hall).

- When do I surrender my Student Pass?
Students should surrender their student pass to ICA 7 working days from the date of the conferment letter.
When students surrender their student pass at ICA, ICA will give them a short social visit pass for them to tie up loose ends in Singapore.
- When do I surrender my NUS student matriculation card?
Please return your student card to the Student Service Centre within two weeks from the conferment date. There will be no acknowledgement of receipt if the card is returned by post. The Student Service Centre is located at Yusof Ishak House Level 1, No. 31 Lower Kent Ridge Road, Singapore 119078.
- Will my email address still be valid?
Your student email account () will be valid for 6 months from the date of your conferment or until 30 June of your Commencement year. During the validity period, you can only access the mailbox and not any other NUS intranet resources. Please do a backup copy of the files which you have retained in your student email account, if applicable, as soon as possible.
After the validity period, you may use the alumni email account () for your communication with the NUS communities. Please access the information at the Office of Alumni Relations website: http://www.alumni.nus.edu.sg
- When will I receive the application letter to apply for Singapore Permanent Residence?
ICA has the discretion to issue the letter to students. Eligible students will be sent the application letter, usually after graduation.
