Professor Saw is a distinguished NUS alumnus whose generous endowed gift has enabled the founding of the Saw Centre for Financial Studies to pursue its goals of leading-edge financial research and education. 
  

 

 

SAW Swee Hock is a Professorial Fellow in the Institute of Southeast Asian Studies and an Honorary Professor in the University of Hong Kong and Xiamen University. He is also an Honorary Fellow of the London School of Economics. He is currently a Member of the NUS Board of Trustees and Patron of the Saw Centre for Financial Studies, NUS Business School. He was formerly Professor of Statistics in the National University of Singapore and the University of Hong Kong. He was Chairman of Advisory Committee, Singapore Securities Research Institute (1978-1980), Council Member, Institute of Banking and Finance (1979-1991) and Member, Committee on Education and Training, Stock Exchange of Singapore (1989-1999). He was Chairman, Board of Diploma Studies, Singapore (1978-1986) and Chairman, Board of Examinations, Institute of Banking and Finance (1982-1992). He was Editor, Securities Industry Review (1980-1994). He has authored many articles and books on statistics, demography, and finance. Among his major publications on finance are Securities Market in Singapore, Investment Management (Fourth Edition), Investment Analysis in Singapore (co-editor), Further Investment Analysis (co-editor), Investment Analysis and Management (co-editor), Theory and Practice of Islamic Finance (co-editor), Sovereign Wealth Funds (co-author) and Corporate Citizenship in Singapore.
