Assoc Prof Simon Poh - Singapore Budget 2008 Analysis of Corporate Tax Changes
The Minister for Finance Tharman Shanmugaratnam delivered the 2008 Budget Statement in Parliament on 15 February 2008. With the economy growing by 7.7% in 2007 and the government projecting a S$6.4 billion surplus in FY 2007, this year’s budget was well-balanced in extending significant tax benefits to businesses whilst dishing out goodies to the lower and middle income group, arguably more so in this year for the latter group. more
