Congratulations to our students who were honoured for their outstanding achievements at the recent Student Achievement Awards 2009.
Organised by Office of Student Affairs, the awards ceremony was held on 30 October 2008 at Heng Mui Keng Terrace Auditorium and was graced by Professor Tan Chorh Chuan, President of NUS.

Final year honours students, Tay Shijia and Bai Zhiyong emerged winners at the 3rd edition Tata Crucible Campus Quiz, held on 23 October. Organised by the Tata Group, this annual quiz seeks to bring together the sharpest young Singaporean minds in a business quiz that tests their speed of thought. A total of 133 teams from various institutions took part and only eight proceeded to the final round.

Kelvin Lee Soon Fatt, Wesley Chong Yi Hao and Li Zhuowei emerged 4th at the 11th Inter-Collegiate Finance Competition (ICFC), organised by the Financial Executives Institute of the Philippines. NUS Business School was the Best Foreign University at the competition.

NUS Business School has been ranked 89th globally for its full-time MBA programmes in the just-released Economist Intelligence Unit’s (EIU) MBA rankings. The School was ranked top 20 for its education experience and salary increase post-graduation. For the other aspects, the School improved its ranks in terms of career and networking opportunities, student assessment of careers service and student quality.

NUS Business School hosted a delegation from the University of St. Gallen, a full academic member of CEMS, on 13 and 15 October. On the second day, the partnership was cemented further with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between both schools.

Marcus Lim Tao Shien was named Best Speaker at the inaugural NTU-NUS-SMU Business Schools Debate on 13 October. It is a unique collaboration as it generates a greater sense of community and an exchange of thoughts.

The inaugural Leadership Dialogue session by Mr Hsieh Tsun-Yan on “Is Everyone a Leader?” was a resounding success. Over 200 participants attended, including BBA and MBA students, faculty, staff and alumni.

The Financial Times has rated the CEMS MIM the number one Master’s in Management programme in the world for the first time, with the MIM also emerging as the top programme for combined international results. NUS Business School is Asia's first full member of CEMS (previously known as Community of European Management Schools and International Companies) and conducts the MIM together with all the other member schools that are each top-ranked in their respective geographical regions.

$1m boost for needy BIZ students
NUS Business School is pleased to receive another gift of $1 million from Dr Tahir, Chairman of the Mayapada Group in Indonesia. The Tahir Indonesian Scholarship and the Tahir Student Exchange Award have been set up to support financially needy Indonesian students at our School.
